Fidelity and Electronic Crime
BCSI has developed a two-part policy specifically for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans that offers traditional fidelity coverage as well as coverage for computer and electronic business activities. Each part carries its own limit of liability, coverages and deductibles.
The broad form fidelity coverage protects Plans from liability associated with employee dishonesty, trading losses, theft or destruction of a forged or counterfeit document, and extortion. The "electronic crime" component of the policy provides coverage for losses associated with computer systems, including those that result from the fraudulent input of data, destruction of computer instructions, computer viruses or other issues that may arise from electronic environment in which Plans operate.
